Problems of Pakistan cricket.

                   

                     Pakistan is one of those few countries where cricket is given much emphasis after religion. It's the game which unites the whole Pakistan under one flag. Although national game of Pakistan is hockey but now it is just limited within the documents. Rather I should say that it has been replaced by cricket for last 2 decades. But unfortunately our system has not been able to create such an institution which can run this game in right direction. For last couple of years Pakistan cricket board is being run by former bureaucrats, ambassadors, diplomats and media persons. These heads of the board are indirectly responsible for the substandard performances of the national team.

                     The biggest setback for the Pakistan has been the quality of  domestic cricket. Many players are selected in national team on the basis of performance in one season. When these players appear at international level, they fail to prove their ability and hence are given a GET OUT call from team. This in-out drama affects their confidence level a lot. Mostly tournaments held in Pakistan domestic constitute more than 10 teams which is the basic hurdle for the finding of talent. Mostly players make their way to national team through domestic cricket, play a few international matches, give average performances and then are thrown out of team. But they have enough reputation to become the part of different T20 leagues in world. So they get a shortcut to earn money and their improvement stops.

                      Pakistan cricket board is one of the richest institutions of country. But it had never been a model institution. Recently the reports of Waqar younis and Intakhab Alam have been leaked from PCB office which is a question mark on the prestige of this institution. Now it's a routine work to form a committee to probe poor performance of team but it has never helped to get rid of ever lasting problems. Same people are the members of these committees who are responsible for the destruction of Pakistan cricket.

What can be done??? 

                       Yeah, it's a question which every Pakistan cricket fans wants answered. The fans want a miracle through which Pakistan team can rule the cricketing world as it did in 1992. 

So, 

First of all Pakistan cricket should be depoliticized. The head of the board should be former cricketer instead of the bureaucrat, media person or diplomat.

The selection criteria should be changed. Players should be selected on the basis of their performances in at least two domestic seasons. 

Players should be well educated so that they play with full spirit to serve their country. Uneducated players indulge themselves in many useless activities. 

The number of teams in domestic cricket should be decreased to 6 so that there is tough competition between the young players. 

There should be pure merit in selection of team. 

If 

all these issues are tackled then Pakistan team can rule the world of cricket and Pakistan cricket board can become a model board.
