Logo of  Pakistan Super League                  Being the most loved game in Pakistan, Cricket has always been a great source of leisure and entertainment for last couple of decades. Pakistan is thought to be one of those counties where there is an abundant talent of cricket. Is is also one of few cricket playing nations who have won World Cup.   These days, cricket is being played in a quite different style. People, due to their busy schedule, now prefer to watch shorter format of game instead of spending their time to watch Tests or ODI’s. Seeing much interest of fans, almost every test playing nation launched its own brand of T20 league; IPL-Indian Premier League being the best of them. Others include Big Bash, CPL, Ram Slam, BPL etc.   Pakistan Cricket Board started its own T20 league last year in February, 2016. Happiness of cricket fans in Pakistan had no bounds at that time. Even those who were not much interested in watching cricket, started doing so just b

In the Memory of My Uncle.

Mohammad Aslam Zaman (Late)                  Some people are very ordinary when they are present between us but we realize their value at the moment when they are no more around us.  Such sort of people are so accessible in life that we can’t know their worth until they say ‘Good Bye’ to us permanently. We had such a character in our family; my grand uncle, Sufi Muhammad Aslam(Late) . 5 May, 2016 proved to be the saddest day for me and my family when he left this mortal world. His death was not less than a ‘shell bomb’ on us as we were not mentally prepared for that. That sudden death stumbled my whole family.                  In most of the cases people become ill, turn into patients, fall to bed and then die. But he had not such case. He was fully fit till very last day. He had a good chat with family members till late night but when he slept, he couldn’t wake up again. In normal days, he used to rouse everyone for morning prayers but couldn’t do so on that day. Early i

The Effects of ''Life Skills'' Course On Me.

With Dr.Aleem Shakir; Teacher of Life skillls course.                      Being the student of ‘’Life Skills’’ course has been a great deal for me. Now I find myself a bit more practical person rather than just being talkative. Almost 3 months have passed since I started studying this course from a great teacher Dr. Aleem Shakir. He has been a great inspiration for me. I often listen various words from him such as ’Positive attitude, determination, good character’. Unintentionally these words are becoming a part of my life. Coming in contact with these things on the daily basis has imposed a great influence on my life. I have started adopting such qualities which can make a person an exemplary figure in society. But it takes a bit time to bring change in one's nature, so I’ve never been worried about this slow progress. I am hopeful to be a very different person when I pass out from University.                    The best thing the study of this course has provided me is

Pakistan Cricket needs a Messiah.

Image
In picture; Chairman PCB Shehryar Khan and Chairman PSL committee Najam Sethi                        Being the most loved sport for the last two decades in Pakistan, cricket has always been a unity factor for all the Pakistani’s whether living in country or abroad . But unfortunately, due to political involvement in the cricket board affairs, this game is taking its last breaths and desperately waiting for a Messiah. The top slots in the board are occupied by the interceders who don’t even know A,B,C of cricket . Prime minister of Pakistan needs to take personal interest regarding the betterment of the game. If not taken proper care, this game will also be cornered like hockey who despite being the national game, is now just limited within the documents seeking no interest of people.

Problems of Pakistan cricket.

Pakistan is one of those few countries where cricket is given much emphasis after religion. It's the game which unites the whole Pakistan under one flag. Although national game of Pakistan is hockey but now it is just limited within the documents. Rather I should say that it has been replaced by cricket for last 2 decades. But unfortunately our system has not been able to create such an institution which can run this game in right direction. For last couple of years Pakistan cricket board is being run by former bureaucrats, ambassadors, diplomats and media persons. These heads of the board are indirectly responsible for the substandard performances of the national team.                      The biggest setback for the Pakistan has been the quality of  domestic cricket. Many players are selected in national team on the basis of performance in one season. When these players appear at international level, they fail to prove their abil

Behaviour Of Students On the Road.                                           University is a place where thousands of students get education.Pakistan is  Lacking the required number of universities, so every university of it is over populated. GC University is thought to be the 2 nd biggest university of Pakistan according to number of students. Currently about 43k students are getting education from here.                                         While going for the classes, I have always witnessed a huge amount of rush on the roads within the university. Here I’ll only talk about the road in front of Quaid-e-Azam block. Yeah, It’s a serious issue of discipline. I see many students walking in groups and almost blocking the road. The width of road will be about 10 feet but five students walking horizontally are enough to block the passage for others. University is also a hub of friendships so boys don’t walk alone rather they are seen walking in groups. The lectures
